LET's GET SAUCE-Y
But not too sauce-y. Let your meat shine.
THE RIB MAN HOLY F*CK HOT SAUCE
Holy moly is this the mother of hot sauces! Sweet, tangy, insatiable heat derived from scotch bonnet peppers and naga jolokia chilis gives this sauce one hell of kick. This is my favourite hot sauce however if you're a bit of a daredevil and willing to lose a few brain cells along the way then check out Christ on a Bike and Mother of God. Purchase online here or visit The Rib Man himself on Brick Lane for his infamous rib sandwich loaded with Holy Fuck sauce.
FRANKLIN's BBQ SAUCE
Franklin's is the mecca of traditional Texas BBQ and for meat lovers this place is one of the modern wonders of the culinary world. Having tried all three sauces the standout one for me was the Original Texas BBQ sauce. In homage to Aaron Franklin, this sauce is worthy of being slathered all over your meats. Those who enjoy a slightly runnier sauce with a strong Worcestershire flavour will fall instantly fall in love with this traditional sauce. Purchase all three here.
12:51 SCOTCH BONNET JAM
Owner of the fine Islington establishment 12:51, ChefJames Cochran isn't synonymous with the BBQ world. He is however a legendary fried chicken guru. This rather naughty jam is one you wouldn't want ending up on breakfast toast, but definitely slathered over your smoked ribs and makes for a wonderful glaze. Sensationally balanced heat has seen this jam achieve the status it so rightfully deserves, finally hitting the supermarket shelves and available UK nationwide. Purchase direct here
KP ORIGINAL HOT SAUCE
KP sauce became the talk of media in 2022 after the owner left the industry to pursue his hot sauce passion. This is one fruity number, with hints of apricot and apple that explode into a hot party on your lips. For an even more intense experience I dare you to try the Uppercut. Fermented Scotch Bonnet peppers (a recurring theme here I've realised) delivers an exotic, spicy punch. Small batch artisan sauce that sells out almost instantly. Almost as hot as a Glasto ticket, purchase direct here or you'll kick yourself">.
FRANK'S BUFFALO SAUCE
I LOVE LAMP. I mean WINGS. Especially Buffalo ones. I have tried many a buffalo sauce and whilst Ribman's comes in a close second, I almost always seem to gravite to the OG no frills Buffalo sauce by Frank's. This is a timeless classic.Triple FFF threa; Fruity, Flavoursome and Fiery. This is a stalwart in my cupboard and the ultimat triple threat; fruity, flavoursome and fiery. Inexpensive and readily available, this is the ultimate glaze/sauce for wings.

TEXAS PEPPER JELLY RIB CANDY
Unless you are au fait with Texas BBQ then you are extremely unlikely to have heard of Rib Candy. Sounds a rather bizarre concept but let me reassure you this thing is the bomb and endorsed by the one and only Matt Pittman of Meat Church. This sticky glaze really tacks up ribs, exploding into a fruity, sweet heat that's simply sensational. Apple Cherry Habanero for the win. Purchase immediately here.
WAZ' GENTLEMAN'S CHOICE
Small batch artisanal sauces need love to cut through and this is no expection. Through joining Smoke & Sear's BBQ community I fortunately stumbled across Waz' BBQ Hut. Having a Great Taste Award reassured me that this was something I had to try and boy was it worth it. I settled for the Gentleman's Choice; an Apple Bourbon sauce which is truly sensational and elevates any slow smoked ribs to an unimaginably high level. Support the little guys here.
BLUES HOG NATION RASPBERRY CHIPOTLE
For anyone who loves a fruity twist to their BBQ sauce this is the one. Cherry is a very popular fruit and pairs well with BBQ sauce, but Raspberries are next level. A fruity twist lingers gently on the palate and a real joy to behold. Pairs beautifully with burnt ends and ribs. A surprise turned regular in my BBQ cupboard. Purchase immediately here.
